Avocado toast hardly needs a recipe, but it certainly deserves its own post on here.
My ode to one of the simplest, most delicious breakfasts, and one of my all time favorites. I love that it takes a bit of time to put together. Toasting the bread, cutting the avocado, mashing it on the toast until it's creamy and delicious. It's a reason to get a fresh loaf of bread, and use those fancy sea salts that have been hanging out in your cupboard for too long. Lately I've been hooked on French grey sea salt or sel gris and sourdough toast. Whichever way you have it, it's good all around.
1/2 ripe avocado, pit removed and sliced into chunks
1 thick slice crusty bread
sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste
Toast bread until golden brown in toaster. Place avocado chunks on warm toast and mash coarsely with fork. To serve, season with salt and pepper
