Japanese Whisky Collins

What do you do when you have a gift card for a liquor store? Splurge for something you probably wouldn't buy otherwise. Japanese whisky wasn't really on our radar for cocktails so we decided to give it a try.
This particular whisky that we used has a subtle fruit undertone, mixed with more traditional vanilla and oak flavors. We ended up loving this because it's a little unusual from your traditional American whisky, and found it added a different set of flavors to the standard Collins cocktail.
