Full Moon Feast | a Night of Yoga + Local Fare
At the end of September I traveled to Spain with my good friend Naomi to photograph a Free People yoga retreat. It was during that week when I overcame a longstanding wrist injury, and gained a new appreciation for the practice. I had felt inhibited in my range of motion for so long that when I worked through it I was completely infatuated, and still am as I practice now. We also spent that week eating super clean, vegan meals prepared by an amazing chef. We've been bonding over the experience ever since, and our overall appreciation of good food. For us, it's also a particular appreciation of the food culture local to Philadelphia.
Robert and I have discussed some sort of a supper club, or food event for lack of a better phrase for such a long time now. When Naomi started brainstorming this mingling of yoga, with my visuals, and Robert's cooking, it clicked into place naturally. Our city's food scene is bursting with access to fresh and interesting ingredients, which is why we're so excited to offer this first event in our beloved Philly.
We have 6 spots available for this festive moonlit night, with the menu available to view in the coming weeks. All of the meat and produce will be sourced from Greensgrow Farms, a mainstay for all of our cooking needs. Dietary restrictions will of course be taken into consideration. We hope to see you there!
a word from Naomi about the evening
With the light of the moon at its fullest, we gather in community to move, sweat, laugh, and feast. This is a time when our energy is at its highest, our digestive fires are strong, and we’re ready to do the work.
We’ll begin our evening with an hour-long yoga class sequenced to challenge and inspire, but more importantly, to fuel our hunger. Appetites fully prepped, we’ll move onto a 3-course menu crafted from local sustainable ingredients.
Our meal will highlight whole nourishing foods with a richness to sustain our bodies in the height of winter. And to cap it off, a little moon bathing around the fire, warm libations in hand.
